Goodbye My Baby Girl

I have known this day would come for a long time, but it still came too fast. We had to say goodbye to sweet Joanie at 4 PM on Monday. I am thankful I had several days of cuddling with her. All she wanted was for me to lie on the bed so she could nap on me so that is what we did.  Her Grammie, the Great One and Typhoid Mary were able to say goodbye to her too.

I hope to make a tribute to her soon, but I am too upset right now. I can’t imagine trying to sleep tonight without her there. Up until the last few days, she slept between us and always gave us kisses goodnight.

  12. Ellen my heart is with you my dear friend…..it’s NEVER easy but when it’s one of your “heart cats” it is even harder – they understood everything and loved life in a special way. Time heals of course but the heart carries a scar as we say goodbye to them. Sending you hugs and love.

  36. No words can convey the depth of sorrow for Joanie’s loss. We know the family has many good memories, but to get to them you must first slog through the grief. Purrayers and POTP .

  38. oh how my heart breaks for you!!! It’s sooooooooooo freaking hard!!!!! They are never with us long enough…..as I mentioned on FB she was the same age as my Angel Bobo when he passed…..had him since he was 6 months old. 18 years is a loooong time with so many memories, may each of those memories help to bring you comfort during this most difficult time. One thing that helped me when I lost all of my pets, was I made collages of photos of them and hung them in various rooms. Then I felt they weren’t “missing” from the room. Sending you much love, many (((hugs)))) and my deepest sympathy.

  60. Hi Ellen I wrote you here on a different day and tried to email you but it bounced. Having seen you and Joanie together in person, I can imagine very vividly what a loss this is and I am so sorry and grieving for this beautiful cat and the special special relationship she had with you. I have about 15 photos of Joanie I took at your house. Just Joanie and the two of you together. So if you can message me on FB I could send them to you. I guess you changed emails from what I had.
